Welcome to Young Academy
Discover the skills needed to work in the automotive industry and learn about the science and technology behind the cars with Young Academy, BMW Education's new online resource for 14 to 16 year olds.
Young Academy is a series of online lessons based on BMW Academy's own award-winning apprenticeship programme. By working through the lessons, students take a journey from learning about the principles of electrical theory, to developing an understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to become a motor industry technician. The Young Academy lessons incorporate the latest web-based training (WBT) techniques, which enable students to learn in the same way as the apprentices at the BMW Academy.
Primarily aimed at 14 to 16 year olds, Young Academy can be used to support the GCSE education curricula for Design & Technology, Electronics, Engineering, Science and PSHE/PSD.
Young Academy is also a valuable resource for students with an interest in working as a technician in the motor industry who want to find out more about the skills and training required.
The website is divided into two sections - enter the teacher or student section to find out more.
Young Academy has been jointly funded by the Quality Improvement Agency and BMW (UK) Ltd.
