About the lessons
Young Academy consists of a series of interactive lessons. The lessons encourage students to perform on-screen tasks in a similar way to technicians in their workshop, which along with moving diagrams and film clips help to explain the information in a novel and memorable way.
The Young Academy lessons incorporate the latest web-based training (WBT) techniques, which enable students to learn in the same way as the apprentices at the BMW Academy.
Each Young Academy lesson takes between 30 and 40 minutes to complete, making it simple to incorporate into lesson plans. The lessons can be run via the internet or downloaded and used offline.
Workbooks
All lessons are accompanied by a workbook for students to make notes in and record answers to questions that will test their knowledge as they work through the lessons. The completed workbooks can also act as a source of information after the lessons has been completed.
Students can work through each lesson individually or in a small group, each with their own workbook, depending on the availability of internet and computer access in the classroom.
The student workbooks are available in the Student's Section.
Teacher notes
Comprehensive teacher notes are provided for each lesson giving guidance on using the Young Academy lessons in the classroom. Use the lesson navigation panel in this section to access the teacher notes and information about each lesson.
