Watch the film

The 'Hydrogen Power' film (2002) has been produced to support the work carried out by BMW Group on the use of hydrogen as an energy source. The film can be used as a stand-alone resource to stimulate general discussion or as part of an on-going teaching programme on topics relating to energy, environmental issues and climate change.

The film links to many areas of the curriculum and covers concepts, issues and debates that are relevant to 12+ students, such as:

  • Non-renewable energy/fossil fuels/nuclear energy
  • Renewable energy sources
  • Use of hydrogen for energy
  • Climate change and environmental impact
  • Consumer choice and other relevant factors

Supporting notes for teachers include a full copy of the film narration script and details of the visual references used in the film. There are also suggestions for class discussion, along with ideas for research and practical activities. Links to the relevant parts of CleanEnergy are indicated so students can explore further the topics raised in the film.
