Your child is constantly facing new challenges, and as they finish their primary schools and begin secondary schools they are starting to become a lot more independent. During this 'transition' period, many young people will be travelling independently to and from school and to see friends and family. Cool Wayz has been devised to help young people understand what is involved in making choices about the way they travel and to develop strategies to handle any potential problems that could arise. The skills they will learn are transferable to other areas of their lives. As a parent / guardian, you could support the work your child is doing at school by helping them to put together strategies when things go wrong, for example if they lose their bus fare or train ticket home.

Cool Wayz is part of the BMW Education Programme. BMW has a long established commitment to supporting education across the UK. The BMW Education Programme provides free, comprehensive curricular-linked and award-winning educational resources.
