Road Facts Lesson Plans
By providing facts and statistics about road safety, this section aims to begin to build up students' knowledge and personal safety skills. Road Facts offers the background students will need to start making positive decisions when they are out and about on the streets.
To help teachers use Cool Wayz lesson plans are provided for each of the five Road Facts topics.
Crashes
This is an introduction to road safety and potential dangers on the road. Crashes includes information and statistics on how crashes happen and injuries that can occur on the roads.
Hazards
This looks at the different types of hazards on the roads. Weather, road works and mobile phones can all cause hazards on the roads. The section looks at how dangerous hazards can be recognised and avoided.

Safe Ways
Safe Ways highlights the concepts behind using roads safely. It looks at the rules of the road and why they are there to protect all road users, and how using common sense is a vital tool in keeping safe.

This section explores the different modes of transport that can be used. It begins to show that there are many decisions to be made when planning to travel to different locations.
