Apprenticeship programme

With over 150 dealers throughout the UK representing the BMW and MINI brands, there is a fantastic range of apprenticeships available. The apprenticeships are unique to BMW with special emphasis placed on the latest technology. Training takes place predominantly within a BMW dealership, with specialised training at one of BMW's training centres (depending on the programme).

BMW Service Apprenticeship

Unlike the majority of motor manufacturers, all BMW Service Apprentices attend the BMW Group Academy UK in Berkshire for their off-the-job training. This ensures consistent training throughout the country and allows our apprentices to train on up-to-the-minute products and technology. The training runs for a 2-3 year period and takes the form of classroom and workshop sessions.

On completion you will receive: Requirements
NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) of Grade C or above in English, Mathematics, Science and one other subject.
NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Institute of Motor Industry (IMI) Technical Certificate

BMW Bodyshop Apprenticeship

The Bodyshop Apprenticeship Programme provides training for Paint and Panel Apprentices. The training takes place at the Motor Insurance Industry Research Centre in Thatcham, Berkshire and is undertaken over a period of 3 years.

On completion you will receive: Requirements
NVQ Level 2 in Body Repair in either Refinishing or Body and Paint 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) of Grade D or above, to include a practical subject.
NVQ Level 3 in Body Repair in either Refinishing or Body and Paint
Institute of Motor Industry (IMI) Technical Certificate

Parts Apprenticeship

The Parts Apprenticeship Programme is unique to BMW and is undertaken mainly within the dealership. The training consists of computer based training (CBT) and modular units. Training is completed at the dealership where candidates are allocated 4 hours per week to study for their qualification. All candidates also attend a minimum of four core parts courses, parts tutorials and off-the-job training at the BMW Group Academy UK during their training programme. The programme is primarily distance learning at the dealership and is structured to be completed in two years.

On completion you will receive: Requirements
NVQ Level 2 in Parts Operations 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) of Grade D or above in English, Mathematics and one other subject.
NVQ Level 3 in Parts Operations
Institute of Motor Industry (IMI) Technical Certificate
